Zoo Date

Today Lily and I took a mommy/daughter trip to the zoo to go meet with Ms. Heather and her little girls Savannah and Annabeth. It was a lot of fun to have an all girl day. Zane needed to stay at home today because he hasn't gotten as much rest as he's used to (antibiotics, ear infection, travel and too much fun) so he needed a day to recover (I think he slept past 9 this morning and then took at full nap too!).

We all went on the animal carousel which was a first for Lily. I didn't know how she'd take it. But she insisted to climb up on a "meow" (a leopard) for her first turn. She LOVED it and exclaimed MORE MORE MORE, so we rode again but this time she was on a red panda bear.

After some animal looking, we ate some lunch. Lily wasn't much into what I bought but she sure was into the mayonnaise. She IS her mother's daughter.

oh ya, squirted onto my plate...

and then shoveled into my mouth

I gave Savannah my camera to play with. I showed her how to zoom, focus and take pictures. I love seeing life through the eyes of a 4 year old.
She caught her mommy and sweet Annabeth (2 years old in a few days!)

Lily wasn't very happy about having her picture taken by Savannah as you can tell

Look how large this normal guy looks to a four year old!

Good use of angles Savannah!

Mommy took the camera back and asked Annabeth to give Lily a hug. The last time Lily and Annabeth saw each other, Lily was only 3 weeks old and Annabeth was 3 months)
"hey uh, Annabeth you're gettin' a little close there hun, um, uh....?!"

"AH! YOU got me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Yes..she is sarcastically pointing to the butterflies. I asked her if she saw the butterfly (they were floating around us) and she ran over to the sign like "DUH MOM! They're right here!"

Annabeth, Savannah and Lily, all girl zoo day!

So cute! I love the one of Annabeth hugging Lily. Too funny. Savannah did a better job with the camera than I expected too. It was so nice to get out and see you girls today. Hopefully Zane can join us next time you visit.

We had a great time too. Yes, hopefully Zane can come along next time but like I said, if I have to do an impromptu diaper change, it may raise a lot of questions from S&A that you may not want to delve into just yet! :)
