Bananas...love at second bite

Bananas...I don't like bananas

hmmm...ok...maybe I do.

Why you can not leave Zane alone for one second

With Zane on the floor and Lily in her bouncer, I set up the stroller for their walk, walked into the kitchen to grab my shoes, and came back to find Zane ready to put himself in the stroller and go without me...a few more seconds and he may have stumbled himself out the door and down the stairs...

Farmer's Market

Saturday afternoon, the four of us went to the Coral Gables Farmer's Market.  This Saturday it was not as crowded as it normally is because currently, the Miami Food & Wine Festival is going on downtown.  The babies were excited to see so many puppies and to "walk" around in the grass (with our help of course).  Jason snapped some pictures, and I ate quiche out of a paper bag.
Proud Daddy...and the babies fight over Mr. Frog

"Zane... I love you"

"and I push you"

"Heh, Heh, Heh"

8 Months Old!

Yep, it's the 19th...monthly birthday time!  Babies were in a pretty good mood today, except poor Lily has scratches and scabs on her face (her nose & under her eye) because Zane playfully attacked her last night and his nails needed a trim.  So she spent a lot of today rubbing her little face and wounds...

Lily and Zane had some mixed emotions on turning 8 months old today...
YAH! I'm 8 Months take that!

Oh my God, I'm 8 Months old!

Yippee! I'm 8 months!

Hey hey hey, who's the birthday girl?!?

I'm teething. So I eat pieces of the floor

Don't confuse me with a 7 month-er

I can't believe I'm already 8 months...my life is slipping away

Kiss me for my birthday?

And who doesn't like naked baby butts!!!!!

Where's my daddy!

The babies have been a bit of a challenge in the past few days because daddy is out of town. They love their daddy...and when he's not around the earth stands still. We are still managing to have a little fun while working in the logistics of a 1 on 2 approach. We made it to the park today but it was not the best of situations. Both Lily and Zane cried the whole time because they both have a major case of stranger anxiety going on right now. It's just a phase and I'm ready for it to pass so I don't have little 8 year old girls walking up to me asking "Why are your babies so sad?"

Getting ready for bath & bedtime

Lily was going to read me a story...

...but the rings seemed more interesting

Meanwhile Zane practiced his crawling...

...all the way over to the pillow so he could bite it.  He's biting lots of things these days, including mommy.  Why won't those teeth come in!

Backyard fun

Our backyard here in Miami is gorgeous for plant life. It seems that all plants grow so well in Florida. As soon as it dries up a little, I have a feeling we are going to be spending lots of time back there

One of our cooler plants

As you can see we've hung the babies' swing (more pics below)

This is our mango tree...you can see the buds just starting to form

Little baby mangos...will be ready in August!

This is  our almond tree...if you look close you can see the little almonds growing near the tip (but not at the tip)

Lily loves the new backyard swing!  Zane...well, he could really care less...he sort of just sits there...expressionless...as if saying, um, does this ride come with food?

Happy Lily

Christmas in February!

Today we received a surprise package on our front door step.  It was a belated Christmas gift from Uncle Brent, Aunt Brenda and cousins Haley & Hunter.  We rushed it inside and opened it up.  The babies love the gifts and continued playing with them all day.

Zane's gift was a zoom ball that wiggles across the floor and has many interactive buttons on it. He's still getting used to the idea that one of his toys moves on its own but he seems quite interested. However, until he and the ball become friends, he was content to play with the gift wrap.

Lily's gift was a toy laptop. She LOVES it. She especially enjoys playing with the mouse. While she delicately studies the laptop and presses buttons one at a time, Zane prefers to slam his hand down on it and mush as many buttons at once. As you can see in this video he has been VERY fussy as of late. He sort of spends most of his day in a fuss or crying state. I blame teething...but then again, it could be the moon, who knows.

New foods are fun

Here Lily, try some watermelon
I think she feels about the same way mom does about watermelon

Zane is probably in the heat of teething at the moment and will chew on just about anything

Including carrots

its not all fun and games

Having babies is a lot of fun. But it's not without it's price. Most videos and photos I show on here are the sweet moments of baby's in their absolute cuteness. However, I would be a liar if I did not show you that there is a fair amount of "fussing" and screaming that go on, on an average day. This video was taken at 4:30pm...universal baby fussy time.
ahhh...twins...One mommy and two babies can sometimes make for a long long afternoon.
