Spring means weed pulling

My garden is in bloom which means so are the weeds. I spent almost 4 hours yesterday yanking the little buggers out. As you can see in the background of the first picture, the rye grass needs some serious manicuring but the lawn people will be on their way soon to limit the field effect we've got going on right now.

You can also see Zane and Lily's little stool that they stand on to help me tend to the plants.

Finally the colors are arriving!

Roses look good this year. I think the freeze killed a lot of the garden pest bugs

Japanese maple also has great color and I'm still waiting on the iris's back there to bloom out

isn't the maple gorgeous? I was going to move it to the front of the house, but now I'm afraid of the risk to it's health.
