Sleep Test Results (or lack there of)

I received a phone call early this week from a nurse who told me Zane's sleep test results came back. She said "it says that they could draw no conclusions due to lack of data and uncooperation from the patient." (silence)
I said, "sooooooooooo"
She said, "sooooo sorry I don't know what to tell you, we'll have Zane come back in to the ENT and the doctor will decide what to do."

Being who I am, I would not take this as an acceptable answer. I spent ALL of my "free day" on Wednesday (while they were at Mother's Day Out), running about town going to different hospitals and medical records departments to get the results myself. I wanted to see the data. Even though he fought most of the test, he WAS asleep for a little bit. There had to be some data buried in there somewhere!

I found what I was looking for. During his sleep test, he was asleep for a 90 minute stretch straight. During that 90 minute stretch, his chest breathing monitors showed "Two Obstructive Event Interuptions." In addition the EEG showed that he was only in Deep sleep for 1% of the time and REM 1% of the time. The rest of his sleep was Stage 1 and mainly Stage 2.

BOOM. Data. So, he stopped breathing twice in that little amount of time and he never was able to achieve deep restful sleep. I'm going to gather MY data from the test and talk with the ENT about it next Wednesday. Poor baby boy can't breathe or get that good quality sleep he needs and something must be done.

I thought I posted a "good for you!" but guess not. Anyhow, I'm so glad you know how to investigate and ask questions. You will get an answer, I'm sure, with your knowledge and persistence.
