Mango Watch 2009!
Mangos are doing quite well and in a few more months they will be ripe and ready to eat! Too bad I don't like mangos. I'll ship them to you if you want them!
When NeeNee and Pop came to visit about a month ago, we had a pineapple with dinner. It was the sweetest pineapple you've ever tasted and I decided it's genes had to live on. I've always wanted to try and grow a pineapple but the weather in Texas is not very conducive to pineapple growth. This little one seems to be doing great and in 3 more years (YES 3 YEARS!) I will get a pineapple if it survives.
Step 1: Twist out the top core and cut off all fruit. Remove the bottom leaves and put in a cup of water for 3 weeks. Replacing the water every other day (room temp water).
Step 4: Put 2 inches of rock at the bottom of an 8 inch clay pot, load up the soil, pot the plant and do not overwater. Keep moisture in the soil but don't let it become wet or dry.
I'll keep you updated as to the status of my little pineapple, hopefully, it will root and start to grow new leaves here in the next two months.

I don't likr mangoes either - taste like kerosene to me. Thanks for the pineapple plant instructions. I have tried rooting one and had no luck (think I didn't change the water often enough).
Loved Zane's gym prep in previous entry. Love all of you, outrageously.
