Green Day

Today we made some Kale chips. Thanks to Amber who turned me onto the weelicious website. Do your kids eat iron rich green leafy veggies? Ya, mine don't either. However, here is a great way to get them to eat their veggies.
Preheat oven to 375 F. Wash and DRY (spinner) Kale torn into two inch pieces. Spread them out in a single layer on a parchment covered cookie sheet. Spray with cooking spray and sprinkle with a few pinches of salt (not too much!). Bake for 6-10 minutes (depends on your oven).
Watch in amazment as your kids devour these "chips"

Then today we planted some seeds for mommy's herb garden.

In a month or so, we'll no longer have to make twice a week trips to the store to grab fresh herbs for dinner. (Woohoo!)

ooo the herb garden looks cool... is this something that came as a kit or did you make this on your own?

the little circles are just peat starter pods and then we bought the seed packets separate. We got cilantro, parsley, basil and oregano. I already have mint, thyme and sage growing out there but these big 4 were missing

I loooooove Kale chips. I put tony chachere on it. Maybe too spicey for kids, but that's how i trick my husband into eating them.
