So I bought my first pair of "Maternity Jeans" last night. They look like normal jeans but they have a small secret. There is no zipper nor any button. There is just a big fat elastic band that holds your pants up on your belly. I bought the kind in which the band can be brought up over your belly, or tucked underneath. Right now I'm sticking to the underneath method, but I may switch to over-belly later on to help hold in my ever-growing belly. They're actually pretty cute and I'm relieved to find out they don't look like something from the early '90s.Friday, February 22, 2008

ooooo shopping! this is the kind of thing i would have been very helpful with :)!
well come on down woman!
Over the belly usually feels too restrictive to me... would imagine even more so with twins (although its nice that this pair gives you a choice). You should look into a maternity belt if you need support. They have a variety of choices, but i just had one that was a big piece of elastic that fit under my belly... it also feels restrictive but really helped support that great big belly of mine. I swear I could hear a great big FWUMP whenever I took it off! :)
maternity belt huh...i'll look into that. I pulled the elastic up and over just to see how it felt today, it really was kinda of annoying. I felt like I had overeaten and there was nothing I could do about it. I just know how uncomfortable I'm feeling lately, and freak out at the fact that I'm only 1/2 way through!
