PROOF!

For the past 2 months, Zane has decided that it is fun to roll over in the middle of the night and scream his head off (he sleeps on his stomach and rolls to his back). Zane hates to be on his back. So about 5 to 6 times a night, Jason or I have to get up out of bed, walk over to his crib and flip him back over to his stomach. He then instantly falls back asleep. It's getting very old, especially because he KNOWS how to roll over from his back to his stomach, he just prefers us to do it for him. The other night we just said, enough! he can do it himself, so we waited it out. He whined for over an hour. We finally gave up and flipped him back, to which he fell asleep right away.
This video is proof that he can do it himself, he just chooses not to, oh, what a fun phase...this better end quickly, we all need better night sleep!

I hate to say it, but he will probably continue to wake up until you let him cry it out one night or two. With Savannah we had to do it around 4 months and with Annabeth we had to wait until 7 months (she always had a medical reason for waking - ear infections, reflux pain, cold, etc.) If he does not have a medical reason, I would tell him sorry buddy, but it's time!! Annabeth had one tough night, but caught on very quickly and was sleeping through the night on night 3. It was so worth the pain of a couple of nights. Good luck - just remember your sleep is as important as their's.

ya, we did the CIO thing...first night he went an hour and a half (I gave up b/c the screaming was unbearable, high pitched I'm dying type screaming)...next night an hour (he gave in but laid in his crib silent with his eyes open and a scared look on his face)...next night another hour (same ol same ol)...maybe we'll try again later. He did pretty well last night...I only had to get up 3 times. Plus, it's not like he stays awake, its just a quick flip and then he's out like a light. I'm a whimp I know

You are not a whimp. Savannah required two weeks of CIO for it to work and it nearly killed us. We would sit on the balcony for hours at night with wine just to escape the screaming (she was a horrible screamer). I know you just don't realize how much quality sleep you are missing by getting up. I didn't realize it until I had like 6 hours straight and I felt like a new person. That was all it took and I was hooked on sleep again. Good luck. It's too bad these kiddos don't come with customized instructions.
